Instead of making her a personality core, as was first planned, he decided that if something like that ever happened again, he might as well save some time and make something that could fix it. MIRaNDA has special wires that she can extrude from her main body to attach to other robots, and, by doing so, she can overwrite the AI compartment inside of them, rendering them nothing more than shaped metal. Also, to find a use for her when such a catastrophe wasn't a factor, Wheatley found a large group of prototype tests that GLaDOS had apparently been working on. It just happened that MIRaNDA and her testing partner would fit the bill to perform such tests. With a few minor adjustments, Wheatley finished the construction of MIRaNDA.
